Privacy policy
This policy explains how Sacred Trails Kathmandu Homestay ("we", "us"), at Tushal Height, Budhanilkantha-5, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal, handles personal information collected through this website.
What we collect
- Inquiry and booking forms: your name, email address, optional phone/WhatsApp number, travel dates, number of guests, the room or trip you are asking about, and your message.
- Messages you send us directly by WhatsApp, phone or email.
- Standard technical data processed by our hosting provider to deliver and secure the website (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested). The inquiry form also uses your IP address briefly to limit repeated submissions.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry, check availability and arrange your stay, trek, tour or transfers.
- To keep a record of confirmed bookings.
- To protect the website against spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- Our website host (Netlify) receives and stores form submissions and emails them to our inbox.
- Netlify also hosts and serves the website.
- Google Maps is embedded on our contact page; Google may set cookies or collect data when the map loads, under Google's own privacy policy.
- WhatsApp (Meta) processes messages if you choose to contact us there.
- Trusted local partners (for example licensed guides, drivers or lodges) receive only the details needed to deliver a trip you have booked.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies, and you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
| What | Purpose | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie choice (st-cookie-consent, your browser's local storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies | Strictly necessary | Until you clear your browser data |
| Message pop-up flag (your browser's session storage) | Stops the message pop-up reappearing after you close it | Strictly necessary | Until you close the tab |
| Google Maps (contact page) | Shows an interactive map. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address | Optional — loads only if you allow it | Set by Google, see Google's privacy policy |
If visitor statistics are enabled, we use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies or collect personal data; it counts page views and actions such as WhatsApp taps or sent inquiries (recording only the room or trip asked about, never your name or contact details). Because it stores nothing on your device, it does not need cookie consent.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry emails and form submissions for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting booking, and booking records for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information at any time when we are not required to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us on WhatsApp or by phone at +977 9846 695 452.
