Pokhara is Nepal’s most beloved destination — a lakeside city set against the full sweep of the Annapurna Himalayan range, with Machapuchare’s perfect peak reflected in the still waters of Phewa Lake. This 4-night Pokhara escape package flies you from Sacred Trails Homestay in Kathmandu to Pokhara and back, giving you a perfectly balanced itinerary: a Himalayan sunrise from Sarangkot, a full sightseeing day covering Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave and the World Peace Pagoda, a free adventure day for paragliding, rafting or mountain biking, and a slow final morning on the lake before your return flight.

Pokhara is the right destination for travellers who want natural beauty, mountain views, gentle adventure and a completely different pace from Kathmandu. The package is available in Essential, Classic and Premium tiers, with private and group departures available year-round from Sacred Trails.

Tour Schedule

Your Pokhara escape begins at Sacred Trails Homestay in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. Your driver takes you to the airport for a 25-minute scenic domestic flight to Pokhara — one of the most beautiful short flights in Nepal, with the Himalayan range visible from the window on a clear morning. On arrival, the afternoon opens up around Phewa Lake, Pokhara's iconic centrepiece. A relaxed boat ride takes you across the lake to Tal Barahi Island Temple, a small Hindu shrine sitting in the middle of the water, with the perfect reflection of Machapuchare — the sacred Fishtail Mountain — shimmering on the surface. As evening arrives, stroll along the Lakeside promenade, lined with restaurants, cafes and an uninterrupted Himalayan panorama at dusk. No early morning tomorrow — save your energy for Day 2's 5:30 AM Sarangkot sunrise.

The alarm goes off at 5:00 AM. Your driver takes you up to Sarangkot viewpoint in time for sunrise — one of the most spectacular Himalayan panoramas in Nepal, with Annapurna, Machapuchare and Dhaulagiri all visible in the golden morning light. Return to the hotel for a full hot breakfast and a mandatory 90-minute rest after the early start. The afternoon takes you to Davis Falls — a waterfall that disappears mysteriously underground — and into Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, a sacred cave with a natural Shiva lingam deep inside the rock. The day closes at the World Peace Pagoda, a hilltop Buddhist stupa with 360° views over Pokhara, its lakes and the surrounding valley.

The morning visits the International Mountain Museum — the definitive record of Nepal's great Himalayan expeditions, the climbers who attempted them, and the mountains that defined them. Continue to Bindyabasini Temple, Pokhara's oldest Hindu temple, perched on a hilltop with open views over the city. A long lunch at one of Pokhara's rooftop lakeside restaurants follows — one of the great simple pleasures of any Nepal trip. The afternoon is entirely free: browse the Lakeside market for pashmina, singing bowls and Thangka art, or simply sit by the lake and watch the mountains. Pokhara is for absorbing, not just ticking boxes.

Today is yours to choose. Option A: tandem paragliding from Sarangkot — a 30-minute flight over Phewa Lake, widely regarded as one of the best paragliding sites in Asia. Option B: white-water rafting on the Seti or Kali Gandaki River — Grade II to III rapids through stunning gorge scenery, half a day on the water. Option C: mountain biking to Begnas Lake — a 15 km ride through farmland and forest to Pokhara's quieter, less-visited second lake. Option D: a short hike to Australian Camp for sweeping Annapurna panorama without full trekking gear. One activity only — the afternoon is free. No back-to-back scheduling.

A leisurely final breakfast and one last hour on the lake at sunrise — Pokhara at its most calm and most beautiful. Transfer to Pokhara Airport for the 25-minute scenic mountain flight back to Kathmandu. Your Sacred Trails driver meets you on arrival and brings you back to the homestay, or directly to the international airport if your onward flight departs today.
