In the afternoon, travel 27 km by vehicle to Tilaurakot — the ruins of the ancient Shakya kingdom palace where young Siddhartha Gautama lived his first 29 years before renouncing the world. Close the visit at Kapilavastu Archaeological Museum, where artefacts and ancient coins from the Buddha's royal lineage are on display.
Wake before sunrise for an optional 6:00 AM walk through the Lumbini Sacred Garden — the most peaceful and most beautiful hour in all of Lumbini. Breakfast at the hotel, then check out at leisure. Transfer to Bhairahawa Airport for the 25-minute domestic flight back to Kathmandu. Your Sacred Trails driver meets you on arrival and brings you home to the homestay — or directly to the international airport for onward travel.
