Morning tea above the Shivapuri forest, golden-hour views across the Kathmandu Valley and the city glittering at night — the rooftop terrace our guests never want to leave.

Night panorama of the Kathmandu Valley glittering below the homestay

Ask our guests for their favourite part of Sacred Trails and many say the rooftop. It's open to everyone staying with us, from first light to late evening.

Morning

Start with tea as the sun rises over the hills and the Shivapuri forest wakes up behind the house. It's a peaceful spot for yoga, stretching before a hike, or planning your day.

Golden hour

In the late afternoon the light turns gold across the rooftops of Budhanilkantha and the whole Kathmandu Valley spreads out below. Bring your camera.

Night

After dark the valley glitters with city lights, and on full-moon nights the view is unforgettable. During Tihar, the festival of lights, our house and the neighbourhood are lit up too.
